    Pudding-Tomato

    Recipe Introduction

    This iRecipe contributed by: Betty Flemming curator of the Loudoun Museum s today�s recipe for a very old favorite.

    List of Ingredients









    2 10 oz. cans tomato puree
    1/2 cup boiling water
    2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup melted butter
    12 slices white bread in cubes, crust off


    Recipe

    � Combine sugar, salt, puree and boiling water.
    � Boil 5 minutes.
    � Place cubes of bread in buttered baking dish.
    � Pour melted butter over, then pour hot puree over.
    � Cover and bake at 375� for 30 minutes.
    � Uncover and bake 10-15 minutes more.
