In a large bowl put approximately 8 cups of maseca. Add warm water and mix. It will be like dough. It will be the right consistency if it feels slightly moist. You can add more water if needed. Knead maseca. Pinch off a little (about the size of a large egg.) and roll in palm of hands until smooth. Put on tortilla press and flatten a little with two fingers. (make sure you have a liner for your press. A grocery plastic bag about the size of a pie and cut into a circular works great. (top and bottom.) Press. turn. press again. Put immediately onto a hot griddle or skillet. No oil needed.
In about 20 seconds, carefully flip. When edges are slightely browned it will be time to flip again. The tortilla should puff up. Flip and put in tortilla warmer.
