3 cups fresh strawberries
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup biscuit mix (Bisquick or Jiffy Mix)
1 dash salt
1/2 cup light cream
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Recipe
Wash and hull berries; mash slightly. Put in 10-inch skillet with a cover. Add 1/4 cup water, sugar and salt. Blend cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently and boil 1 minute. Dot with butter.
Make biscuit dough with 1 tablespoon sugar, the mix and cream. Drop by tablespoon onto hot mixture in skillet. Cover and cook over low heat 15 to 20 minutes or until biscuits are done. Serve warm, plain or with cream.
