    2.5 pds. peeled potatoes
    1 cup 2% milk
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 very small onion, diced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1.5 teaspoons salt
    2 Tablespoons butter

    Recipe



    Slice potatoes in thick slices (about 1/2 inch). Combine the potatoes, milk, cream, onion, garlic and salt in a large pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce temperature. Cook at a gentle boil until the potatoes are fork tneder.
    (not mushy) Move the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with slices of the butter. Bake @500 degrees for 15 minutes until hot and bubly and browned on top. Remove from oven and let stand 15 minutes before serving. Serves 4-5
