    6 Cups Sifted All-purpose Flour
    1 Tablespoon Salt
    1 Can Vegetable Shortening (about 2-1/2 Cups) (16 Oz)

    ombine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Cover and store in a cool, dry
    place, or you can refrigerate it. Remove from refrigerator a half hour before using.

    To Use For 9-Inch One-Crust Pie:

    Combine 2 Cups Basic Pastry Mix with 2 to 3 Tablespoons Cold Water. Mix lightly until dough holds together and starts to leave side of bowl.

    Roll out to a 12" circle on a lightly floured board; fit into pie plate. Fold overhand under; pinch to make a standing edge; flute.

    Bake as directed for your pie recipe.

    YIELD: 8 to 9 Cups of Pastry Mix
