List of Ingredients
3 Cups Self-rising Flour*
1/3 Cup Sugar
1 Can Budweiser Beer, room temperature
2 Tablespoons Margarine, melted
1 Pinch Dill
*To make your own self-rising flour, add 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and ½ teaspoon salt to every cup of all-purpose flour.
Recipe
Grease and flour a 9x5x3" loaf pan and set aside. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Measure flour and dill into a bowl; cut in margarine. Mix sugar and beer in another bowl and pour over flour; mix until flour is absorbed.
Bake bread 50 minutes. For a nice brown top that is not too crusty, remove bread from oven 15 minutes before it is done and rub top with butter or margarine, then return to the oven to finish baking.
VARIATIONS: Add ½ cup shredded cheese or some dry onion soup mix to the mixture.
For Beer Bread Biscuits: Use your favorite biscuit recipe and substitute beer for the liquid called for.
