    1 1/2 Cups Dried Apricots
    1/2 Lb. Pecans
    1 Cup Golden Raisins
    1/2 Lb. Sliced Almonds
    8 Oz. Candied Cherries
    1 1/2 Sticks Butter
    4 Slices Candied Pineapple
    2 Cups All-purpose Flour
    16 Oz. Fancy Diced Mixed Fruit
    1 Cup Sugar
    1/2 Lb. Dates
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    1 Oz. Rum Flavoring
    1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
    4 Eggs, separated

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 270 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a 10" tube cake pan.

    Cover apricots with cold water; bring to a boil. Simmer 1 minute, drain and cut up coarsely.

    Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Stir in some fruit and nuts. Sift flour and other dry ingredients. Add alternately with beaten egg whites and rest of fruit and nuts. Add flavoring.

    Bake at 270 degrees for 2 hours. Cool cake in pan, on a cake cooling rack.

    NOTE: A pan of water placed in oven adds moisture to cake. Wrap cooled cake in foil to keep moist.
