    1 Cup All-purpose Flour
    ½ Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
    ½ Cup Butter, softened
    1 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed
    2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
    ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
    1/4 Teaspoon Salt
    2 Eggs, beaten
    1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    3/4 Cup Chopped Pitted Dates
    1 Pkg Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels (6 oz)
    1 Qt Coffee or Praline Ice Cream

    Recipe



    Combine 1 cup flour and ½ cup brown sugar, stirring well. Cut butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press this mixture onto the bottom of a 9-inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder and salt. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until blended. Stir in dates, pecans and chocolate morsels.

    Pour mixture into above prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

    Serve with a scoop of ice cream.

    YIELD: 12 servings
