List of Ingredients
1 c. lukewarm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oil
About 2 3/4 c. flourRecipe
In large bowl, mix well water, yeast and sugar. Let stand 5 minutes.
Stir in oil and salt. Gradually stir in 2 cups flour to make stiff dough. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in lightly greased bowl, turn to grease top. Cover and let rise in warm draft free place about 1 hour. When doubled in bulk,
turn out on lightly floured surface. Cut in 8 pieces. Roll each into ball, then flatten with fingers to 4 inch rounds. Let rise 5 to 10 minutes. Roll each into 6 inch rounds, about 1/4 inch thick. Place on heavily floured
waxed paper or board. Cover with waxed paper or towel. Let rise 30 minutes until rounds look smooth and slightly raised. Meanwhile, place a heavy baking sheet in oven and preheat oven to 500 degrees. After 20 minutes of preheating carefully transfer risen rounds, floured side down, with a wooden paddle or wide spatula (or heavy cardboard) to hot
sheet. Bake 4 to 5 minutes until loaves balloon and are lightly brown.
Remove from oven and place on waxed paper to cool
