Recipe Introduction
I love the taste of this cake; it's buttery with a really nice topping.
The cinn./sugar ends up being the top of the cake. I've tried this in:
(a) bundt pan, (b) tube pan (like angel food cake pan) (c) 9 X 13 pan
and no matter how I bake it, it always sticks to the bottom of the pan.
If this happens to you, don't be frustrated. I usually gently remove
the
topping that's stuck and re-stick it to the top of the cake while it's
still warm. I kind of re-named it Cinnamon Butter Coffee Cake, because
that's more like what it tastes like. It doesn't need any frosting or
other toppings; it's just great "as is".
List of Ingredients
1 box yellow or white cake mix
1/2 C. sugar
2 T. cinnamon
1 stick butter or margarine
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour a bundt pan, set aside. Prepare cake mix according to
pkg. directions. Pour batter into prepared pan. Mix together sugar and
cinnamon; sprinkle over top of batter. Cut stick of butter or margarine
into 8 T. and lay them around the top of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
The
butter pulls the cinn/sugar mixture down through the cake. Bake
according to pkg. directions (usually 47-54 min.).
