    List of Ingredients




    1 cup sugar
    2 heaping tablespoons cornstarch
    2 cups milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 drops yellow food coloring
    2 eggs, separated
    1/2 can coconut

    Recipe



    Add all ingredients together except coconut in medium sauce
    pan. heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
    remove from heat. Add coconut, pour into baked pie shell.

    Meringue:
    2 egg whites
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla

    Place room temperature egg whites in deep bowl. beat at
    high speed until foamy. Add sugar, a little at a time. Add
    cream of tartar and beat until very stiff peaks are formed
    when beaters are raised. Top pie filling with meringue,
    sprinkle with other half can of coconut. Lightly brown in
    350 degree oven. refrigerate several hours before serving.
