2 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1 pt. drained, cooked
strawberries
1 c. hot strawberry juice
1/2 c. sugar


Recipe



Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and blend well.
Add sifted dry ingredients, alternately with milk. Pour in
greased baking dish. Cover with 1 pint drained, cooked
strawberries. Pour over this, one cup hot strawberry juice
and
sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 350 degrees until done.

Delicious with other fruits; cherries, peaches, etc. In
cooking
batter will rise to top.
