Old English Caramel Apples

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. half & half
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. chopped pecans, toasted
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 med. apples
Recipe
Combine sugar & cornstarch in a med. saucepan. Gradually stir in half &
half & butter, mix well. Cook over med. heat, stirring constantly.
Bring to
a boil, boil 1 min. Stir in pecans & vanilla, cool 15 mins. Core & cube
apples, place in individual serving bowls. Pour 1/4 c. sauce mixture
over
each apple before serving. 6 servings
