1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
2 coves garlic, minced
1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, cut up
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/4 c. snipped parsley
1 T. brown sugar
1 1/2 t. ground oregano
1 t. salt
1/2 t. msg. (opt.)
1/4 t. dried thyme, crushed
1 bay leaf
Recipe
In lg. saucepan or Dutch oven, combine
meat, onion, and garlic; brown lightly.
Drain off excess fat. Add 2 c. water
and remaining ingredients. Simmer
uncovered 3 hours or till sauce is
thickened; stir occasionally. Remove
bay leaf. Serve over hot cooked
spaghetti. Pass bowl of shredded
cheese. Makes 6 servings.
