Woman's Day Christmas Cookie Recipes, Dec. 1961



List of Ingredients




3/4 cup butter -- *must* be butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour -- sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts -- chopped
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
instant cocoa mix
confectioner's sugar -- sifted


Recipe



1. Preheat oven to 350°.

2. Cream butter and sugar.

3. Beat in egg and vanilla.

4. Sift in flour and salt; mix thoroughly.

5. Stir in nuts and chocolate

6. Shape into 1" balls.

7. Bake on cookie sheets for 15 to 20 min.

8. Cool slightly.

9. Roll half in cocoa mix, the remainder in confectioner's sugar.
