Woman's Day Christmas Cookie Recipes, Dec. 1961


List of Ingredients




2/3 cup butter -- or margarine
1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour -- sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup coconut -- flaked and chopped
Vanilla Frosting -- tinted to your choice of
colors


Recipe



1. Cream butter and sugar.

2. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add vanilla.

3. Sift flour with baking powder and salt; stir into cream mix
gradually, blending thoroughly.

4. Add coconut.

5. Chill until dough is firm enough to roll.

6. Preheat oven to 375°.

7. Roll out dough to 1/8" thickness on floured board.

8. Cut with floured cutters, bell or other shapes.

9. Bake on ungreased cookies sheets for 12 min., or until golden
brown.

10. Cool and decorate with Vanilla Frosting, tinted as desired with
food coloring.
