    :Woman's Day Christmas Cookie Recipes, Dec. 1961

    List of Ingredients




    1/3 cup unsalted butter -- (*must* be sweet
    butter)
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 egg yolk
    2 eggs
    1 7/8 pints flour -- sifted
    1/3 cup nuts -- finely chopped
    1/3 cup raspberry jam

    Recipe



    1. Cream butter and sugar.

    2. Add egg yolk and 1 egg.

    3. Blend in flour. Chill.

    4. Preheat oven to 350°.

    5. Pinch off walnut-size pieces of dough and shape into balls with
    floured hands.

    6. Put onto ungreased cookies sheets and make a deep depression in
    the center of
    each ball.

    7. Beat remaining egg and brush cookies with it.

    8. Sprinkle with nuts.

    9. Bake for 15 min., or until golden.

    10. Fill depression with jam.
