    1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    1/4 cup sugar
    3/4 cup flour
    1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/4 tsp. coarse salt

    Recipe



    1. Mix: Mash butter and sugar together with a fork in a medium bowl.
    Add
    flour and cocoa and mix until smooth.

    2. Pat: Turn out onto a stretch of parchment paper, pat into a
    rectangle,
    about 1/2-inch thick. Sprinkle with coarse salt.

    3. Cool: Refrigerate at least one hour. Cut the cold dough into
    2-inch-by-1-inch bars. Separate them and transfer to a parchment-lined
    baking sheet.

    4. Bake: Bake at 350 degrees until the top looks dry, about 25 minutes.
    Cool.
