    List of Ingredients




    2 cups light brown sugar -- packed
    3/4 cup margarine -- or other shortening
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 cups flour -- sifted
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon allspice
    1/2 teaspoon ginger
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 cup golden raisins -- plumped in hot water and
    drained
    1 cup walnuts -- chopped
    Thin Lemon or Orange Frosting

    Recipe



    1. Preheat oven to 300°.

    2. Cream sugar and margarine until smooth and fluffy. Beat in eggs.

    3. Sift flour with spices, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add
    flour mixture alternately with milk to first mixture.

    4. Stir in raisins and nuts. Spread in greased 15" x 10"x 1" pan.

    5. Bake 35- 40 minutes. Cool.

    6. Using a paper cornucopia, frost with Thin Lemon Icing, tinted in
    3 colors, making alternate stripes across pan. When frosting is
    hard, cut into bars.
