3 3/4 to 4 1/4 c. all-purpose
flour
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. rum
few drops of rum extract
2 eggs
sifted powdered sugar
Recipe
In mixer bowl combine 2 cups of the flour and the yeast.
Heat milk, sugar, butter and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add rum and
rum extract. Add flour and eggs. Beat 3 minutes. Turn onto
lightly floured surface. Knead in enough flour to make a
soft
dough. Placed in greased bowl. Turn once. Cover, let rise in
warm place until double, about 1 hour. Punch down. Cover and
chill for 20 to 30 minutes. Fry a few at a time in hot fat
at
375 degrees for about 1/2 to 1 minute per side or until
golden.
Drain. Dust with powdered sugar. Makes 36.
