List of Ingredients
4 cups flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups cornmeal
1/2 cup shortening
Recipe
Sift flour then measure. Add salt, sugar and baking powder to the
flour and
sift again. Add the cornmeal unsifted. Cut shortening in to the
mixture
and place in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool dry place.
When
ready to use remove to a mixing bowl 2 cups of the mix. Add 1
unbeaten egg
and 1 cup of milk. Beat well. Pour in to a greased pan and bake in a
hot
oven 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
