Easy Oven Spaghetti

1 lb. ground beef
2 med. onion, chopped (1 c.)
1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes
3/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. water
1 can (4 oz.) mushrooms stems and pieces, drained
2 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1 t. chili powder
1 pkg. (7 oz.) thin spaghetti, broken into 2" pieces
1 c. shredded cheddar or process American cheese (4 oz.)
Recipe
Cook and stir ground beef and onions in
10" skillet or 4 qt. Dutch oven until beef
is brown; drain. Stir in tomatoes, with
liquid and the remaining ingredients
except cheese; break up tomatoes with
fork. Put into an ungreased 2 or 2 1/2 qt.
casserole or 12x7 1/2x2" baking dish.
Cover and cook in 375° oven, stirring
occasionally, until spaghetti is tender,
about 45 min. Sprinkle with cheese.
Cook uncovered until cheese is melted,
about 5 min. Makes 7 servings.
