    2 1/2 to 3 lbs. skinned frying chicken pieces
    2 crushed garlic cloves
    2 T. oil
    2 c. (two 8 oz. cans) tomato sauce
    2/3 c. (6 oz. can) tomato paste
    3/4 c. cider vinegar
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
    2 T. prepared mustard
    2 t. salt
    1/2 t. pepper
    1 bay leaf

    Recipe



    Place chicken pieces meaty side down in
    13x9x2" baking dish. Bake in a 400° oven
    for 35 min. While chicken bakes, sauce
    garlic in oil in med. saucepan. Add
    remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly.
    Boil gently, uncovered, 30 min. Remove
    bay leaf. Drain excess fat from chicken.
    Brush chicken pieces generously with
    sauce. Bake 10 min. longer. Turn chicken
    pieces over; brush with sauce again. Bake
    10 min. longer or until chicken is tender.
    Remaining sauce may be served with
    barbecued chicken. Refrigerate leftover
    sauce and use for barbecuing
    hamburgers, frankfurters, or ribs.
    Makes 6 servings.
