    Makes 5 to 6 servings

    List of Ingredients




    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. red (cayenne pepper)
    1/4 tsp.. garlic powder
    1 tsp. dried tarragon leaves
    1/2 tsp. Chinese five spice powder
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 lbs. beef flank steak, cut into 1" strips
    1/2 green bell pepper, cut into strips
    3/4 cup chicken broth
    2 bay leaves
    3 tbsp. cornstarch
    3 tbsp. water

    Recipe



    In a small bowl, combine first 6 ingredients. Sprinkle spice mixture
    over
    meat strips, patting and turning strips to coat both sides. Place meat
    in a
    slow cooker. Add bell pepper strips, chicken broth and bay leaves.
    Cover
    and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hrs.; remove bay leaves and discard. Dissove
    cornstarch in water; stir into cooker. Turn to HIGH. Cover and cook on
    HIGH
    20 to 25 min. or until thickened.
