MICROWAVE WHITE RICE

2 cups of water
1 Tbsp. butter or oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup long grain white rice
Recipe
Combine water, butter and salt in a 2 quart casserole. Cover with
glass lid.
(use dinner
plate if no glass lid)
Microwave 4 to 8 minutes on high or until boiling. Stir in rice,
recover.
Microwave 15 to 17 minutes on medium (simmer) or until rice is tender.
I
don’t have a
medium, so I microwave on high for 12 minutes and taste. It is al
dante.
Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving.
I found this a quick and convenient way to make rice and it turns out
fine.
It is better than
minute rice.
