pizza dough for one 14" pizza
1 3/4 c. (15 oz.) can pizza sauce
3 oz. sliced pepperoni or 1/2 lb. cooked, drained, crumbled Italian
sausage
2 T. chopped green pepper
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 c. (8 oz.) ricotta cheese
Recipe
Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Place
two portions on one side of lightly floured,
large, rimless cookie sheet. Press or roll
out dough to 7" circles. Spread 2 T. pizza
sauce on half of each circle, being careful
to leave 1/2" around edge. Top Pizza sauce
with 1/4 each of meat, green pepper, and
mozzarella cheese. Spread 1/4 c. ricotta
cheese on other half of circle; fold over.
Seal edges tightly. Cut steam vents.
Repeat for other two portions of dough,
using other side of cookie sheet. Bake in a
350° oven 20 to 25 min. or until c rust is
golden brown. Heat remaining pizza sauce;
serve over calzones. Note: One lg. calzone
may be made instead of individual calzones.
To prepare, shape dough into one 13" circle.
Spread 1/2 c. pizza sauce on half of dough
and proceed as above. Bake for 25 min.
