Hearty Cabbage Stew

Recipe Introduction
I cut the cabbage into chunks and put it in the blender (with abt 2
cups of water) I pulse it 2-3 times (no more you'll end up with
mush) and it chops the cabbage so well, drain into a colander in the
sink and refill w/ water & cabbage until you're done.. works w/
coleslaw too!
List of Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 apples; peeled, cored and diced
1/4 lb. ground beef
3 cups shredded cabbage
2 garlic cloves; minced
1/4 cup dry onion soup mix
1 large potato; shredded
2 cups vegetable broth
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 cup milk
Recipe
In a large heavy pot, cook apple and ground beef in hot oil over
medium-high heat until lightly browned. Drain well and return to
pan. Stir in cabbage and garlic. Reduce heat. Stir in onion soup
mix, potato, broth, Italian seasoning and sugar. Cover and simmer 30
minutes. Add milk. Heat through and serve.
Yield: 6 servings
