start with flours,
rice,
oatmeal,
yeast,
baking powder,
baking soda,
eggs,
milk or equivlents,
powdered, canned and fresh,
fats such as cooking oils,
butter/margarine/oleo,spreads etc.
shortening,
lard
real vanilla extract,
pumpkin pie spice,
poultry seasoning,
garlic granules/powder,
onion granules,powder,
sugars /sweetners
cornstarch,
From the you can create thousands of items:
such as:
breads,
soft pretzels,
funnel cakes,
pancakes,
waffles,
french toast,
biscuits,
cookies,
cakes,
flour tortillas,
cereal,
elephant ears,
doughnuts,
pizza doughs,
fry breads,
pita pockets,
bar cookies,
cinnamon rolls,
danish,
cream puffs,
enclairs,
spatzel,
homemade pastas,
wonton wrappers,
frostings.
This is just for starts the list is seemingly endlesss.
Add cocoa powder and you can make brownies and chocolate
beverages and many of the above.
then do allgrains you will use on a regular basis.
Next should be veggies such as onion and potatoes,
then green ones and yellow ones,
fruits/juices etc. dairy such as cheese.
meat and meat equivalents.
Example 1 part cooked beans to 3 parts cooked rice is the
equivalent to meat.
Then your miscellaneous such as gelatins, condimnets,
extracts, spices, herbs, seasonings, coffee teas etc.
I keep lots of eggs on hand and feel a bit insecure foodwise
if they run low or worse yet out.
Best time to buy is lowest price of year, then store.
