Easy Broccoli Onion Deluxe

Serves 6
List of Ingredients
1 pound broccoli
2 cups frozen small onions, OR 3 medium onions, quartered
1/4 cup butter, divided
1 T. flour
2 t. salt
Dash pepper
1 cup milk
1 pkg. (3 oz) cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded American cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Recipe
Cut up broccoli, cook 10-15 minutes; drain. Cook onions in boiling
salted
water until tender; drain. In a pan, melt half the butter; blend in
flour, salt
and pepper. Add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and
bubbly.
Reduce heat. Blend in cream cheese until smooth. Place vegetables in a
1 1/2
quart casserole. Pour sauce over and mix lightly. Top with shredded
cheese.
Melt the remaining butter and toss with the bread crumbs. Sprinkle over
casserole.
