Green Beans With Onion

1 pound fresh green beans or 1 package (16 ounces) frozen whole green
beans
1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 medium-size yellow onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon each dried marjoram leaves and oregano leaves 1/4 teaspoon
salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)Recipe
In a large saucepan, bring 1/2
inch of water to a boil over high heat. Add fresh whole beans. Lower
the
heat and simmer, covered, for 15 to 20 mins or until crisp-tender. (Or
cook the frozen beans according to package directions.) Drain, removing
the beans.In the same saucepan, heat the oil over moderate heat. Add
the
onion and cook for 8 to 10 mins or until tender and browned. Stir in
the
beans, marjoram, oregano, salt and red pepper. Heat through. Serves 6.
