- 2/3 cup sugar
- 6 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup cold milk
- 2 &1/2 cups scalded milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup cold milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- In top of a double boiler mix sugar,cornstarch and salt. Stir in 1 cup cold milk.
- Add 2&1/2 cups scalded milk. Cook over boiling water until thick, stirring constantly.
- Cover and cook 10 minutes.
- Beat egg yolks and 1/4 cup cold milk. Stir in some of the hot mixture into egg yolk mixture then stir back into custard. Cook 1 minute. Add vanilla.
