    List of Ingredients


    • 2 lbs. ground beef
    • 1 cup minced onion
    • 2 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. pepper
    • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 2/3 cup flour
    • 1/4 cup shortening
    • 1 cup beef boullion
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. pepper


    Instructions


    1. Combine meat,onion,salt,pepper,nutmeg and eggs. Shape into 2in. balls.
    2. Mix flour with 1/4 tsp.salt and a little pepper. Roll meatballs in mixture,coating well.
    3. Brown on all sides in hot shortening. Add boullion and bay leaf, cover.

    4. Cook slowly 20-30 minutes. Remove meatballs from pan.
    5. Blend 3 tbsp. flour with drippings left in pan(use flour leftover from coating meatballs). Brown flour and add 1 1/2 cups more boullion. Cook and stir until thickened, seasoning if necessary.
    6. Serve meatballs and gravy over mashed potatoes.
