    Creamed Chipped Beef with Mushrooms

    List of Ingredients




    2 1/2 ounces sliced dried beef, rinsed under cold water if too salty
    5 Tlbs. butter
    1 1/2 cups cleaned and sliced fresh mushrooms
    3 Tlbs. flour
    2 1/2 cups milk
    Salt and Pepper to taste

    Recipe



    Shred the beef into a bowl by tearing the slices into bits. Melt 2 Tlbs. butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook for a minute, stirring, just until they change color a little. Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon to the bowl containing the beef.
    Melt the remaining 3 Tlbs. butter in the skillet over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes. Still stirring, slowly add the milk.
    Add the salt and pepper. Stir and cook for at least 5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened. Stir in the beef and mushrooms,cook another 10 seconds, remove from the heat and serve.
