- 1 CUP SUGAR
- 2 EGGS
- ABOUT 3 1/2 CUP FLOUR
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 3 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON NUTMEG
- 1 CUP MILK
Instructions
- CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
- ADD BEATEN EGGS
- ADD DRY INGREDIENTS ALTERNATELY WITH MILK
- TURN ONTO FLOURED BOARD
- KNEAD SLIGHTLY
- ROLL OUT INTO STRIPS (ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG AND 3/4 INCHES WIDE)
- DOUBLE AND TWIST TOGETHER, PINCHING ENDS FIRMLY OR CUT LIKE DOUGHNUTS.
- FRY IN DEEP FAT (360-375 DEGREES)
- DRAIN THOROUGHLY ON PAPER TOWEL
- ROLL IN POWDERED SUGAR, OR CINNAMON AND PLAIN SUGAR.
