List of Ingredients
- 1 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
- 3/4 CUP SUGAR
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/3 CUP CRISCO
- 1/2 CUP MILK
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1 EGG
Instructions
- MIX FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, AND SALT IN MEDIUM BOWL.
- ADD CRISCO, MILK AND VANILLA.
- BEAT VIGOROUSLY.
- ADD EGG, BEAT WELL.
- POUR INTO GREASED AND FLOURED 8X8X2 INCH BAKING PAN.
- BAKE IN OVEN 350 FOR 25 TO 30 MINUTES.
- COOL 5 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN.
Final Comments
I USE THIS TO MAKE PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE TOO---INSTEAD OF GREASING THE PAN, MELT 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER ON BOTTOM, TOP WITH 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR, 1 CAN PINEAPPLE RINGS WITH MARACHINO CHERRY IN THE MIDDLE OF EACH RING. POUR BATTER OVER TOP AND BAKE AS DIRECTED.
