CHOCOLATE PUDDING CAKE

- 1 1/4 CUP SUGAR, DIVIDED
- 1 CUP FLOUR
- 7 TABLESPOONS COCOA, DIVIDED
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/2 CUP MILK
- 1/3 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, MELTED
- 1 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1/2 CUP LIGHT BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
- 1 1/4 CUPS HOT WATER
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.
- IN MEDIUM MIXING BOWL, COMBINE 3/4 CUP SUGAR, FLOUR,3 TABLESPOONS COCOA, BAKING POWDER AND SALT.
- BLEND IN MILK, MELTED BUTTER AND VANILLA, BEAT TIL SMOOTH.
- POUR BATTER INTO 8X8X2 INCH PAN.
- IN SMALL BOWL, COMBINE REMAINING 1/2 CUP SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR, 4 TABLESPOONS COCOA.
- SPRINKLE MIXTURE EVENLY OVER BATTER.
- POUR HOT WATER OVER TOP.
- DO NOT STIR!!
- BAKE 40 MINUTES.
- LET STAND 15 MINUTES, THEN SPOON INTO DESSERT DISHES, SPOONING SAUCE FROM BOTTOM.
