    NO FAIL REFRIGERATOR PICKLES

    I RECEIVED THIS FROM MY MOTHER-IN-LAW MANY YEARS AGO AND HAVE SHARED IT WITH MANY DURING THE YEARS. MUCH QUICKER AND COOLER WAY TO TEMPORALLY STORE PICKLES.


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 CUPS THINLY SLICE CUCUMBERS
    • 2 CUPS THINLY SLICED ONIONS
    • 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
    • 1 1/2 CYOS VINEGAR
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1/2 TEASPOON MUSTARD SEED
    • 1/2 TEASPOON CELERY SEED
    • 1/2 TEASPOON GROUND TUMERIC


    Instructions


    1. IN A GLASS OR CROCKERY BOWL ALTERNATELY LAYER CUCUMBERS AND ONIONS.
    2. IN MEDIUM SAUCEPAN COMBINE SUGAR, VINEGAR,SALT,MUSTARD SEED,CELERY SEEDS AND TUMERIC.
    3. BRING TO BOIL, STIR TIL SUGAR DISSOLVES.
    4. POUR VIENGAR MIXTUE OVER CUCUMBER MIXTURE, COOL SLIGHTLY.
    5. COVER TIGHTLY, REFRIGERATE 24 HOURS BEFORE SEVING.
    6. STORE UP TO ONE MONTH IN REFRIGERATOR.


    Final Comments


    MAKES 7 CUPS. I OFTEN USE OLD JARS SINCE I DON'T NEED TO HEAT THEM.
