Wayne's Mother's Krispy Cookies

List of Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1-6oz pkg chocolate chips
1-6oz pkg butterscotch chips


Recipe

Combine sugar & syrup in a 3-qt saucepan. Cook over moderate heat until bubbles appear. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Mix well. Add 6 cups Rice Krispies. Stir FAST. Press into buttered 13x9x2" pan.

Melt chips together. Combine well. Spread over top of cookies. Cool and cut into squares.


My late ex-mother-in-law was one of the lovliest people I've ever known. She made these cookies every Christmas. I think of her fondly every time I make them. Rest in peace, Lesley.
