    Kentucky Butter Cake

    Recipe Introduction


    Everyone seems to love this simple no frills cake.


    List of Ingredients


    • CAKE INGREDIENTS
    • 1 (3.4-oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 pkg. Butter Cake Mix
    • BUTTER SAUCE
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
    • 3 tablespoons water
    • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350. Generously grease and flour 12-cup Bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan.

    2. In large bowl, combine all cake ingredients at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at high speed.

    3. Pour batter into greased and floured pan.

    4. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes.

    5. For sauce; Combine all sauce ingredients except vanilla.

    6. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils.

    7. Boil 1 minute. Stir in vanilla.

    8. Pierce cake with fork and pour sauce over warm cake. Let stand 10-15 minutes or until sauce is absorbed.

    9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
