    Recipe Introduction


    It's a mix that will keep for 6 months.


    List of Ingredients


    • 9 cups unbleached flour
    • 4 tsp baking soda
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 3 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    • 3 cups granulated sugar
    • 2 cups vegetable shortening
    • 4 cups chopped pecans [ I omit]
    • 48 ounces semisweet REAL chocolate chips [not chocolate flavored]
    • ----------
    • To Make the Cookie:
    • 7 cups Chocolate chip Cookie mix
    • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
    • 2 eggs, lightly beaten


    Instructions


    1. stir the mix to evenly distribute the chips and nuts. combine with vanilla and eggs.
    2. THIS CREATES A HEAVY BATTER.
    3. Drop by heaping tbsp on buttered baking sheets
    4. Bake at 375F for 10 to 12 minutes
    5. Cool slightly on baking sheets
    6. Approx 2 dozen
    7. For flatter cookies pat down the batter with the back of a spoon.


    Final Comments


    Yield for mix is 28 cups.
