Char Siu
List of Ingredients
2 – 3 lb pork butt
1/2t Chinese 5 spice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1T sherry
1/4C Shoyu
1/2t red food coloring
1 (1 inch) piece ginger, crushed
1t salt
3T honey
Recipe
Have your meat market butcher cut the pork butt into ½ inch slices. Combine all remaining ingredients and marinate meat in mixture for 8 hours or overnight. Invert a glass saucer or glass dish cover in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish to form a trivet. Arrange marinated pork on the trivet. Cover dish with a paper bag tent.
Cook in microwave 8 –10 minutes.
