2 sticks butter
5 large eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
10 ounces 7-UP -- reserving 1/4 cup
for glaze
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup pecans (optional)
1/4 cup 7-UP
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add
eggs,
one at a time, mixing after each addition. Alternate adding the
flour and
liquid. Stir in vanilla. Bake in a greased and floured tube or bundt
pan
at
350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done. Cool about 15
minutes
before removing. Glaze after cake is cool.
