    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 t. vanilla extract
    2 cups flour
    1/2 t. salt
    1 t. baking powder
    1 t. baking soda
    1/2 pint sour cream
    Topping:
    1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon
    1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped nuts

    Preheat the oven to 350. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the
    butter,
    sugar and eggs; add the vanilla. In another bowl, combine the dry
    ingredients and add to the liquid mixture alternately with the sour
    cream.
    Mix together the topping ingredients. Spread half of the batter in a
    tube
    pan and sprinkle with half of the topping. Add the remaining batter
    then the
    remaining topping. Bake the cake for 40 minutes.
