    2 cups flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/4 t. cinnamon
    1 t. salt
    4 t. baking powder
    1/4 cup shortening
    3 eggs
    1 cup milk
    1/4 cup chopped nuts
    1 cup chopped apples
    Brown sugar (optional)

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350. Sift the dry ingredients together. Work in the
    shortening, then add eggs and milk. Stir until smooth. Stir in the
    nuts.
    Pour the batter into a greased 8 x 12" pan. Cover with chopped apples.
    Sprinkle with brown sugar if desired. Bake for 30 minute.
