    2 cups sugar
    1 cup milk
    1 cup walnuts (doesn't say chopped nuts but that's what I'd use)
    `1 pound dates, chopped
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    powdered sugar to roll candy in

    Recipe



    Bring sugar and milk to soft boil. Add cut up dates, nuts and vanilla.
    Spread into a jelly roll pan. Cut lengthwise and roll into long rolls
    in powdered sugar. Cut into 2-inch pieces.
