4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 lb. Crisco
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
Mix flour, salt, powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon
butter
like pie dough. Then add the beaten egg in the
lukewarm water
and add to pie dough and mix well. Roll on floured
board and
spread 1/4 pound of Crisco and put in refrigerator for
1/2
hour. Repeat this until all Crisco is used. Keep in
refriger-
ator for 1 hour (2 or 3) hours after last rolling is all
right.
Dough is folded envelope fashion. Take out and roll
on floured
board. Don't roll too thin. It must be a little thick for
cookie to be right. Cut in squares and fill with prune,
pineapple, nut or apricot filling. Bake at 375 degrees
for 1/2 hour.
