Cookies:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp almond extract
Frosting:
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
3-4 Tbsp milk
food coloringRecipe
In large bowl, combine all cookie ingredients. Beat at medium speed
until
well mixed. Divide dough in half. Heat oven to 375. On lightly
floured
surface, roll out dough half at a time to 1/4 - 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut with
cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 6-10
minutes or
until edges are lightly browned. Let stand for 1 minute. Remove from
cookie
sheets. Cool completely. For frosting, in small bowl, combine sugar,
butter, and vanilla. Beat at low, adding enough milk and scraping
bowl often
until desired consistancy. Add food coloring if desired. Decorate
with
frosting and then sprinkles.
