    1 c. shortening or oleo
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    6 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk or regular
    milk with 3 Tbsp. vinegar

    Recipe



    Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, baking soda, baking
    powder and vanilla. Add flour with milk alternately until
    all
    mixed (will be slightly sticky). Roll out thick; cut into
    shapes desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. (Do not
    overbake.). Let cool. Frost and decorate. These are cake- 
    like sugar cookies; soft and good.
