List of Ingredients
1 c raisins
1/2 c dates -- chopped
1 c boiling water
1/4 c oil
1 egg -- well beaten
1 t vanilla
1 t soda
1 c flour
1/2 c oatmeal -- (uncooked)
1/4 ts salt
Recipe
Boil raisins,dates and water for 3 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add oil,
egg
and vanilla. Mix. Add dry ingredients (which have been mixed together).
Mix thoroughly. Chill in refrigerator. Drop by teaspoon on greased
cookie
sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Artificial sweetener may be added to make cookies sweeter, but they are
good
and more healthful with only the fruit as sweetener.
Yield: 3-4 dozen.
