Makes 24
1 pkg plain yellow cake mix
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
8 TB [1 stick] butter, melted
2 lg eggs
1 c chopped candy bar pieces such as Snickers, Butterfingers, and so on
Recipe
Place rack in center of oven and preheat to 350. Set aside ungreased
13 x
9” baking pan.
Place cake mix, brown sugar, melted butter and eggs in lg mixing bowl.
Blend w/ ele mixer on low 1 min, scrapping sides of bowl. Blend again
on
low speed 1 min. Fold in candy bar pieces until well distributed.
Pour
batter into pan, smoothing it out w/ spatula so that it reaches all
sides.
Place pan in oven, bake until golden brown and toothpick inserted in
center
comes out clean, 40-45 mins. Remove and place on wire rack to cook
completely, 1 hr.
Cut cake into 24 bars. Remove bars from pan w/ metal spatula and
serve.
Store bars covered in plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 1
week. Or
freeze them wrapped in foil for up to 6 mons. Thaw bars overnight on
counter
before serving.
